U2 Puts Its Hips Into "POP"

Jan. 14 [8:00 EST] -- Summarizing the tone of U2's new single, "Discotheque," (QuickTime, 1.5MB) and its upcoming album, "POP," Bono claims the band has embraced danceablity.

"Well it's a record that has hips," Bono told MTV News. "I think that's what it is, and we kinda got bored with a lot of where white rock was. As angry and as in your face as hip-hop gets, they still always... the record has hips. There's a groove to them. That's the sex of the music, isn't it , the rhythm."

MTV debuted the "Discotheque" video last week. "POP" is due to hit stores in March.
