Also in TV mode recently was U2, whose members took a short tour break in L.A. last weekend to record their guest parts for an upcoming episode of "The Simpsons," in which the hapless Homer Simpson runs for the office of Springfield Sanitation Commissioner. Does this mean U2's turning into a cartoon? Chris Connelly tried to be diplomatic.
BONO: Well, people like you have reduced us to cartoons before we ever got involved in "The Simpsons."
I'm here to kiss Homer Simpson's bottom.
CHRIS CONNELLY: Are you long-term fans of the show? Have you gotten to watch it on tour, anything like that?
THE EDGE: It's great. I mean, I have to say, it's one of the best things on TV. In fact, it's one of the only things worth watching on TV at the moment. Yeah, we've been fans for a long time.
That episode of "The Simpsons" will air next May.
