Robbie Williams To Contribute To BBC Soccer Film

U.K. pop star Robbie Williams is currently taking a break from his North American tour in order to make a few concert appearances in Europe, and he has apparently lined up a BBC film project for the near future.

Britain's Press Association reports that Williams, who has just released his first U.S. album, "The Ego Has Landed," will have a cameo role and contribute to the soundtrack of "There's Only One Jimmy Grimble," a soccer film being produced by Film Four.

The movie is said to be a coming-of-age flick about a young boy from Manchester, Jimmy Grimble, who is bequeathed a pair of shoes from a famous soccer player. No word yet on when the film will head into production, but we'll keep you posted.

Williams will return to the States next month to wrap up his North American tour, with the last date set for the Mayan Theater in Los Angeles on June 9.
