Bench Warrant Issued For Weiland After Missed Court Date

A bench warrant was issued for Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland Thursday afternoon when the singer missed a scheduled court date.

A Los Angeles judge issued the warrant after Weiland missed a hearing on a drug arrest last February.

Weiland's representatives had no comment, but a spokesperson at the court said they believed that Weiland was in the courthouse but never went to the courtroom or his hearing.

A bench warrant is slightly different than an arrest warrant; Weiland will be charged for missing Thursday's hearing only if he has another encounter with the law.
