Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland will be in the family spirit this Thanksgiving, as he and wife Mary Forsberg are celebrating the birth of their first child, a baby boy named Noah Mercer Weiland.
Noah was born at an undisclosed location on Sunday and weighed in at 7 pounds, 10 ounces, according to a birth announcement issued by STP's management reps.
"It was the most glorious moment in my life," Weiland said in the announcement. "He is healthy, wealthy, and wiser than me."
Weiland and Forsberg were wed in Los Angeles in May, about three months following the singer's release from the drug rehab center at the L.A. County Jail. The singer had been sent to the facility in August 1999 for probation violations.
STP wrapped its headlining stint on MTV's Return of the Rock Tour on November 10 in Phoenix, and the band's publicist said that the group will likely take some time off before heading into the studio in January or February 2001 to start
work on a new LP.
