Spice Girl Mel Brown did indeed marry Dutch dancer Jimmy Gulzar on Sunday. Scary had previously denied rumors that the event would take place this past weekend, although suspicions remained when workers at her home began building various party facilities, and told press they'd been invited to the Sunday afternoon wedding. The 3:30 p.m. ceremony took place in a 12th century church adjacent to Brown's 16th century estate in Little Marlow, Buckinghamshire. The pregnant Brown wore a unique white satin gown and was given away by her father, according to the "London Daily Mirror." The estimated 150 white-clad guests included mostly family and friends with few celebrities in attendance apart from the girls themselves. Although Posh Victoria Adams, Baby Emma Bunting, and Sporty Melanie Chisholm were on hand (as regular guests, there were no bridesmaids), Geri Halliwell did not attend although she had flown from the States to London a day or so earlier. The former Ginger told press
at the airport that she hadn't received an invite. The "Mirror" also reports that the Spice Girls, sans the equally pregnant Adams, were front and center at an apparent pre-wedding party at a local luxury hotel following the Spice Girls appearance at Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield on Friday. The girls performed at that venue on Saturday. The group play two more shows at London's Wembley Stadium next week before taking a break, when presumably a honeymoon may be in the works.
