While her current single, "Sometimes," continues to rule the radio airwaves, teen phenom Britney Spears is preparing to release a new single and video for "(You Drive Me) Crazy - (The Stop Remix!)," the initial offering from the upcoming "Drive Me Crazy" film soundtrack.Spears recently shot a video for the "(You Drive Me) Crazy" with director Nigel Dick in Los Angeles, and both the remix and the original version of the song were produced by Swedish pop music maestro Max Martin, best known for his work with the Backstreet Boys. Spears first recorded "(You Drive Me) Crazy" for her quintuple platinum debut, "Baby One More Time," and the remixed single version of the track is scheduled to be released to radio on August 23. The soundtrack album for "Drive Me Crazy," which also features contributions from the Backstreet Boys, Barenaked Ladies, and Steps, is due out on September 28, while the film, which stars Melissa Joan Hart and Adrian Grenier, opens nationwide on October
1.In the meantime, you can catch Spears performing "Sometimes" and "(You Drive Me) Crazy" tonight on the 1999 Fox Teen Choice Awards. Spears is also up for three 1999 MTV Video Music Awards, including "Best Pop Video" and "Best Female Video," which will be handed out on September 9 at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City.
