Snoop Dogg Enjoys Career Resurgence, At Peace With Former Label

Snoop Dogg reclaimed his position on top of the music pound this week with his first record for Master P's No Limit label, "Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told," debuting at number 1 on the pop album charts, usurping the Beastie Boys' super disco breakin' hold on the top spot.

The strong opening week sales justifies the optimism Snoop recently expressed about this new phase of his career to MTV News, even as he opted not to criticize his former label, Death Row Records.

"With the opportunity to do it again," Snoop said, "and have a second wind and to be able to get with Master P and No Limit with the songs to help rekindle my fire, it's better than crying over the spilt milk [700k QuickTime]."

As we previously reported (see "Snoop, Dupri, Nas Down For New Slick Rick Album"), Snoop recently laid down vocals for a guest spot on Slick

Rick's forthcoming album, due out in the fall.
