Snoop Dogg Gives Props To Xzibit

This weekend, Oahu, Hawaii will be hosting the Concert On Chronic Island, featuring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem, as well as the lesser-known Xzibit. The show will most likely see a number of onstage collaborations; one of them will no doubt be Xzibit joining Snoop for "B Please," the current single from Snoop's latest album, "No Limit Top Dogg."

Xzibit, affiliated with the L.A. rap crew Tha Alkaholiks, has two solo albums to his name, 1996's "At The Speed Of Life" and 1998's "40 Dayz And 40 Nightz." Snoop tells the MTV Radio Network that he hopes that the Chronic Island concert and the appearance on the "B Please" single and video help to expose Xzibit to a larger audience.

"He's always been underrated, but Xzibit is one of the most dominant West Coast underground rappers in the game," Snoop said. "And I'm glad I had the opportunity to put him on my record, do a video with him, blow him up and let the world see what he's all about."

Xzibit's star does appear

to be rising: he will be appearing on a number of tracks on Dr. Dre's upcoming "Chronic 2001" album, and is slated to tour next year with Dre, Snoop and Eminem (see "Snoop Dogg Looks Forward To Chronic 2000 Tour With Dre, Eminem, Xzibit").
