Smashing Pumpkins Raise Over $2.8 Million On Charity Tour

The Smashing Pumpkins have announced the final figures from their recently-completed, 17-date charity tour -- which raised some $2.8 million for the local organizations in each of the 15 cities the band played.

As we previously reported (see "Smashing Pumpkins Talk About The Benefits Of Charity"), the Pumpkins donated 100 percent of tickets sales from the series of concerts to various nonprofit groups, a situation which necessitated the band incurring a financial loss in order to cover the tour's expenses.
