Sevendust On The Next Level Of Rock Bands

Now that Korn, along with Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock and others have breathed new life into rock music, there's another band that some say is poised to take it to the next level – Atlanta's Sevendust.

Their new album, "Home," has just entered the SoundScan album charts at number 19 after selling over 62,000 copies in its first week in stores. The band is currently headlining a tour that also includes Powerman 5000, Staind and Skunk Anansie.

The band members told MTV that it's good to be putting out a record at a "rock-friendly" time.

Drummer Morgan Rose says, "I think that there's a lot of bands that have paved the way, so to speak, to open up the doors a little bit. Korn I always thought kinda started it up a little bit. Started getting everything going a little bit." He also cites Limp Bizkit's recent success in rock's comeback. "Limp Bizkit's helped (to) blow the door wide-open

on the whole heavy side of it. I give them a lot of credit. I think that they deserve everything that they have gotten and if we can benefit from that, then..." [RealVideo]

As anyone who saw the band's explosive set at Woodstock '99 can attest, Sevendust are a powerful live act (see "Red Hot Chili Peppers, Collective Soul, Sevendust Witness Woodstock's Fiery End").
