Metal die-hards planning to make the pilgrimage to New Jersey for next year's second annual March Metal Meltdown will have to change their calendars. As we previously reported, the version 2.0 of the Meltdown was originally set for March 31 and April 1 in Asbury Park (see "Milwaukee Metalfest Spawns Metal Mania Series"). On Wednesday, however, organizers announced that the year 2000 edition of the metal showdown will now take place on March 10 and 11 at the South Jersey Expo Center in Pennsauken, New Jersey. Tickets for next year's event are going for $55 for a two-day pass (or $35 for one day) and will go on sale on January 7. Fans can order them through Ticketmaster or through Relapse Records (at www.relapse.com). Next year's model is expected to once again follow the 1999 March Metal Meltdown's recipe for success: that event brought together
bands such as Sepultura, Raven, Amorphis, and Napalm Death with professional wrestlers and adult film stars. Promoter Jack Koshick stages the annual shows as a spin-off of his long-running Milwaukee Metalfest and is promising to spread more than 100 bands over three stages.
