Van Halen Sets Date For New Album

November 11 [7:55 EDT] — Van Halen is hoping to unveil its third incarnation, this one with former Extreme frontman Gary Cherone handling vocals, on February 24th with the aptly titled “Van Halen III”.

The first single from that album, which has yet to be selected, will be out in January, followed by a world tour which will kick off in Australia.

In more good news for the band, guitarist Eddie Van Halen has been told by doctors that he won’t need to have hip replacement surgery after all.

Meanwhile, original VH singer David Lee Roth is moving on in life as well. The singer recently released his bare-knuckled autobiography, and sat down with MTV’s Kurt Loder to talk about it, as well as his departure from VH and eventual aborted reunion attempt with the band.
