Singer Diana Ross was arrested earlier today at Heathrow Airport in London, England, after allegedly assaulting a security officer. According to the Associated Press, she was released from police custody a few hours after the incident, and was given a warning, but not charged with an offense.Ross, last seen grabbing Lil' Kim's nearly naked breast at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards, was detained after a female police officer, who had attempted to search the singer, complained that Ross had assaulted her. Ross was at the airport to board a flight to the United States, and was arrested while aboard the aircraft. After being released, Ross told a group of British reporters that "Police here are wonderful" and offered no other comment. Ross' spokesperson issued this brief statement: "Regarding Diana Ross and the Heathrow Airport altercation, both the treatment and the incident were regrettable."
