Roots' Smokin' Gun

July 14 [7:55 EDT] -- Last week we reported that Tareek Trotter, better known as "Black Thought," the lead singer of the instrumental rap group, The Roots, had been missing in action from two Smokin' Grooves tour dates.

He had been arrested on a gun charge just before the group's July 5 show at Long Island's Jones Beach. A handgun had been found in his bag backstage.

On Wednesday, July 9, Trotter appeared in court and paid a fine for the gun charge. While Trotter was away, his vocals were handled by Roots member "Dice Raw."

Smokin' Grooves hits Cincinnati, Ohio's Riverbend Music Center Tuesday night.
