Roots Credit Chemistry For Art-ful Live Show

The Roots have developed a reputation for delivering one of the tightest live shows in hip-hop, and the group will play before some of its biggest audiences yet when it opens six stadium dates for the Dave Matthews Band in late-May.

The Philadelphia-based outfit has been on the road in support of its fourth album, "Things Fall Apart," has already gone gold after a month in stores. During a recent interview with the MTV Radio Network, the Roots' Black Thought talked about the band's chemistry and its relationship to delivering the music in concert.

"I think what makes us blend together so well is that we're like-minded," he said, "we are all much more interested in bringing something to the [live setting] that's going to be seen as art much more than instantaneous music. We're not really interested in coming with something that's just [us] rapping. We want the full package."

The Roots is scheduled to bring its current tour to the Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts tomorrow
