The Rollins Band's video for "Get Some Go Again," the title track off the group's most recent album, was selected as the Best Digital Music Video of the year during the DV Expo 2000 in Los Angeles earlier this week.
As part of the Expo, "DV Magazine" presented the clip's director, Modi, with one of its Media Master Awards in recognition of her direction, production, and camerawork on the video.
The "Get Some Go Again" video was shot on DV cameras during Rollins Band concerts in Los Angeles and Chicago in the spring. After accepting the Best Digital Music Video award on Wednesday, Modi said filming the clip was akin to "a war zone where it [was] up to you as the general of the filmmaking platoon to capture the frenetic energy of Rollins and his rabid fans at all costs."
In related news, Henry Rollins has mapped out a few spoken word dates for late-October to support "Smile, You're Traveling - Black Coffee Blues Pt. 3," a collection of essays about
his journeys to Kenya, Madagascar, Egypt, Israel, and Thailand during 1997 and 1998.
The former Black Flag frontman has also spent time in Vancouver recently, filming his part as the narrator in the upcoming FOX horror anthology series "Night Visions."
The program was supposed to premiere earlier this month, but has since been pushed back until next spring (see "Rollins Lands Fox TV Series").
