Keith Richards Makes Amends With Sprint

December 18 [16:00 EDT] — After very publicly airing his dislike of telephones in a “Rolling Stone” cover story, Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has apologized to Sprint communications, the sponsor of the band’s “Bridges To Babylon” tour.

As we first reported last week, Richards told “Rolling Stone” that “Phones are the bane of my life” and likened using a cellular phone to “sticking your head in a microwave oven.”

A spokesperson for the notoriously outspoken guitarist said that Richards recently told Sprint reps that he meant no harm in his remarks, and added that despite Richards’ dislike of phones, he is actually rather fond of fax machines.
