May 29 [14:00 EDT] -- Warner Bros. Records has confirmed that it will release the long-rumored side project from the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Dave Navarro and Chad Smith.
The label, which also happens to handle the Chili Peppers, said that it will release the still untitled album from the as-yet-unnamed group in August or September.
Whenever the project turns up, it will feature Navarro's debut as a singer as the noted Jane's Addiction/Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist flexes his vocal muscle for the first time. Fans may recall that Navarro sang back-up on a previous side project, Deconstruction, that he formed with ex-Jane Addcition's bassist Eric Avery after the demise of Jane's.
Up next for the Chili Peppers will be a turn at Japan's Mt. Fuji Festival on July 26 with Beck, Rage Against the Machine, Green Day, and the Foo Fighters.
