Flea Finds Even More Work

July 21 [17:00 EDT] - Never let it be said that bassist and noted ball of frenetic energy Flea is one to waste time.The Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist is preparing to play the Mt. Fuji Festival with his fellow Peppers, and will also sit in as part of the Jane's Addiction "relapse" with Perry Farrell, Stephen Perkins and Dave Navarro.

Meanwhile, Flea will add some credits to his already lengthy acting resume. He'll tape an MTV pilot next month, with Lounge Lizards saxophonist John Lurie, who has appeared in the Jim Jarmusch films "Down By Law" and "Stranger Than Paradise." The pilot's called "The Strip," and in it Flea and Lurie will play petty thieves who like to philosophize while unloading trucks full of hot VCR's.

The Flea will go on to play another kind of criminal, a German kidnapper, in the film "The Big Lebowski" which costars Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, and Steve Buscemi. It's a dark comedy from Joel and Ethan Coen, the writing and directing team that

last brought you the Oscar-winning "Fargo, and it should arrive in theaters this Christmas. So far, Flea has turned up in more than 15 films including "My Own Private Idaho," "The Chase," "Son In Law," and "Back To The Future Part II and III."
