Rage Against The Machine Talks About U.S. Tour Launch In November

Backing up one of the most eagerly anticipated hard rock releases of the year, Rage Against The Machine will kick off a U.S. tour in support of "The Battle Of Los Angeles" on November 19 in Oakland, California.

"The U.S. tour starts November 19 in Oakland and goes for almost exactly a month," guitarist Tom Morello told MTV News. "Then in the new year, we're still figuring it out, but probably we'll tour Europe in January and February."

Specifically, the tour will touch down in 19 cities and will follow a short stint of not-so-secret club dates ending on November 5 in Los Angeles at the Park Plaza Ballroom.

"It's pretty much all across the country," Morello said of the band's itinerary. "It's as far as we

can get in a month...

before the holidays happen. It's most of the major cities, and the ones that we don't get now, we'll get in the new year." [RealVideo]

Opening acts for the tour have yet to be confirmed, but Rage bassist Brad Wilk told MTV News, "We've been throwing names around like Gang Starr was one of them. Queens Of The Stone Age was one of them, but the thing is nothing's set in stone yet."

An opening act for the tour is expected to be announced shortly.
