June 24 [12:00 EDT] — Queensrÿche bassist Eddie Jackson proposed to his longtime girlfriend Teresa on stage at the Gorge in their home state of Washington Saturday night. He popped the question right before the encore.
She said yes.
The band had more good news to impart. They confirmed they would be signing with Virgin Records after the demise of their previous label last week, EMI Records.
The news wasn’t all good though. The band’s huge video screen couldn’t be used for the show due to high winds, and the date only sold 6000 or so tickets, not great numbers considering the venue’s proximity to the boys’ hometown of Seattle. The Gorge is in George, Washington, two and some hours out of the city.
The tour, which started June 17 in Rapid City, South Dakota, is on the heels of the band’s new EMI album, Hear in the Now Frontier.
