Queensryche Lines Up New Album, Label

Queensryche finally has a record deal and a release date for its ninth album, “Q2K.” The disc will be issued on the Atlantic label on September 14.

The art-metal rockers intend to launch a tour in conjunction with the album’s release sometime in early to mid-October, but details have yet to be firmed up.

The band’s last album was “Hear In The Now Frontier” through EMI in 1997, and Queensryche has been without a corporate home since the demise of its EMI-affiliated label that same year. The group also left its management company, Q-Prime, earlier this year.

“Q2K” was produced by Kelly Gray, who has been officially added as the band’s new guitarist, replacing Chris DeGarmo (see “Queensryche Guitarist Leaves Band, Future Uncertain,” and “Dokken, Queensryche Announce New Guitarists” ).

Excerpts from the CD can be heard at the official Queensryche Web site ( target="new">queensryche.com). The track list for “Q2K” is as follows:

  • Falling Down
  • One Life
  • Sacred Ground
  • When the Rain Comes
  • How Could I
  • Beside You
  • Liquid Sky
  • Breakdown
  • Burning Man
  • Wot Kinda Man
  • Right Side of My Mind
