Prince Visits Muppets, Returns To The Road

September 19 [12:00 EDT] -- The artist we will continue to refer to as Prince popped up as the special guest star on the season opener of the parent-approved "Muppets Tonight" last weekend when he rolled out plenty of jokes based on his name, or lack thereof.

The show opened with Prince being greeted at WMUP-TV by security guard Bobo the Bear, who demands to know the artist's name.

"This is going to be fun," Prince cracks in response, and then proceeds to explain that his name is now an unpronounceable symbol, and flashes a CD emblazoned with the soundless glyph he adopted on his 35th birthday in 1993.

Prince also playfully sang an ode to the Muppets commissary menu called "Raspberry Sorbet."

After his time among the Muppets, Prince returned to more human settings, and is still on the road with his current U. S. tour. Here's where Pollstar says Prince will be in the coming days:
