Prince Sells Off Memorabilia At Charity Yard Sale

The Artist Formerly Known as Prince put some of his old purple and paisley wares on the block this weekend as part of a charity sale held at his Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota, a suburb of the Twin Cities.

The Purple One was not on hand for the event, which was dubbed "Spring Cleaning in August," but several hundred fans did turn out to snap up everything from old keyboards and tambourines to bottles of Prince perfume and neon signs used as part of his "Sign O' the Times" tour.

A final cash count was not available as of press time, but it was estimated that several thousand dollars had been raised by the sale.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to several of the Artist's "Love 4 One Another" charities, which provide aid and assistance for underprivileged young people.
