Powerman 5000 Goes Live For New Video

If you want something done right, do it yourself.

Such seems to be the motto Powerman 5000 frontman Spider One has adopted, as the singer recently assumed directing duties on the band's latest video, "Supernova Goes Pop."

The performance clip (chock full of slo-mo moshing action) was shot live during the band's February 2 and 3 shows at the Palace in Hollywood and was delivered to MTV last week.

The video is the third from the band's breakthrough album, "Tonight The Stars Revolt!" and should soon begin airing on MTV and the channel's hard rock off-shoot, MTVX.

"Tonight" has been in stores since July of last year, and the band has recorded at least one morsel of new music to tide fans over until its next album. PM5K has laid down a track called "The End Is Over" for the soundtrack to the upcoming animated sci-fi epic "Titan A.E." The band will join Robbie Williams and tourmates Static-X on the soundtrack, which should hit stores this summer.

Next up for the band is the daunting task of opening for Pantera on that group's European tour. After that, PM5K will play Japan and Australia and hopes to return to the States for a tour this summer.
