Stern, Porno For Pyros, and Red Hot Chili Peppers

MTV NEWS: Having suddenly called off a scheduled tour last week, singer Perry Farrell and his band, Porno For Pyros, joined by guitarist Dave Navarro and bassist Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, gathered in Los Angles last weekend to shoot a video for the Pyros song "Hard-Charger," which will be the first single released off the soundtrack for the upcoming Howard Stern movie, "Private Parts." A hit would be nice, in canceling the band's tour, management said too many fans were expecting it to turn into a reunion of Jane's Addiction, a group of which Farrell, Navarro, and Pyros drummer Stephen Perkins were all members. But when we spoke to Farrell on the video set, he allowed as how weak sales of the band's last album, "Good God's Urge" had something to do with it as well.

PERRY FARRELL: I thought, this is gonna be such a great piece of musical history for people that they can hang on to it. I want them to love it, and I want them

to be, like cooler people. Like, if like they hear it, and then they don't wanna punch people after that. You know my favorite thing is when everybody is kind of like talking to each other. So, I thought the music would do that and this festival I put together, Enit, it was awesome and I put so much time in to it and, you know, it wasn't appreciated.

MTV NEWS: Porno For Pyros is now at work on a new album.
