Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers intend on bringing their series of album preview shows from the West Coast to the East Coast next month, and have just announced plans to stage a multi-night stand at New York City’s Irving Plaza to celebrate the release of their new album, “Echo.”
The NYC shows, slated for April 11, 12 and 15, comes on the heels of Petty and Company’s recently completed concerts at the Fillmore in San Francisco (see “Tom Petty Returns To Fillmore To Reprise Multi-Night Stand” ), a stand which drew raves from both the local and national press.
While in the Big Apple, Petty and the Heartbreakers will also make some of the usual TV rounds — including appearances for “Saturday Night Live” on April 10 and the “Late Show with David Letterman” on April 13, the same day “Echo” is due out in stores.
But if you can’t make it to NYC for one of the three shows, don’t fret. Petty and the Heartbreakers are scheduled to launch
a major summer tour in mid-June.
