Four months after their debut "Mer De Noms" hit stores, the sound-sculpting rockers of A Perfect Circle are readying the second single from the album.
The band teamed with video director Paul Hunter last weekend on location in Los Angeles to shoot a video for "3 Libras," the follow-up to the band's maiden single, "Judith." While the "Judith" video was essentially a gritty, moody performance clip (put together by "Fight Club" director David Fincher), spokespeople for APC say that fans should expect more storytelling elements this time out.
While Hunter has worked with rock acts like Everclear and Marilyn Manson, he is perhaps best known for the high-gloss clips that he has directed for acts such as Christina Aguilera, Eminem, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, TLC, Will Smith, and a bevy of other chart-toppers.
In addition to the APC gig, Hunter also recently landed a deal to direct his first feature film, "Old City," a thriller about a cop who tracks a serial
killer through time (see "Video Director Hunter Lands Movie Gig").
The "3 Libras" video may give fans their last chance to see A Perfect Circle for a while. The band recently wrapped up its headlining U.S. tour, and frontman Maynard James Keenan is due to join his other band, Tool, in the studio this month to record that group's next album (see "Tool Gearing Up For Two New Albums").
