Pearl Jam Will Open For Rolling Stones; New Album On The Way

September 15 [18:20 EDT] -- A source close to Pearl Jam confirms that the band will take a swing to the opposite end of the concert spectrum from its recent anti-Ticketmaster tour and will open two dates for the Rolling Stones.

Eddie Vedder and company will open for the Stones on November 14 and 15 in Oakland, California.

Pearl Jam joins the previously announced Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews Band, Sheryl Crow, Smashing Pumpkins, and Blues Traveler as opening acts on the "Bridges To Babylon" tour, which launches next Tuesday in Chicago.The same source also confirms that the band will have a new album out this winter, but noted that it will not arrive before Christmas.
