Pearl Jam's Ament For Bison Repatriation

This Saturday, right before Pearl Jam kicks of its U.S. tour at Missoula, Montana's Grizzly Stadium, Jeff Ament and other members of the band will meet with elders from the Intertribal Bison Cooperative to discuss the recent slaughter of a buffalo herd in Yellowstone National Park.

Ament and the ITBC leaders hope to devise a way to raise awareness about the incident, as well as the repatriation of bison on public land, topics Pearl Jam plans to address during the tour-opening show.

Based out of Rapid City, South Dakota, the ITBC is an organization of 45 Native American tribes fighting to restore the buffalo population in keeping with the group's respective spiritual and cultural beliefs and practices.
