Joan Osborne Expands Summer Plans, Working On New Album

Joan Osborne, who is set to be part of the first North American WOMAD festival scheduled for July 31 through August 2 in Redmond, Washington, is expanding her summer tour plans as she readies a new album.

Osborne is scheduled to join Sister Hazel and Ziggy Marley at the Lodo Festival in Denver on July 17 before hooking up with the Lilith Fair for five dates, starting with the August 19 show in Milwaukee.

The singer has also been working with Cracker's David Lowery on some tracks for her new album, which according to her manager, may be out as soon as the fall.

In related news, Dead Can Dance, who was slated to be a part of the WOMAD festival along with Osborne, Tuatara, Wilco, Billy Bragg, and Sky Cries Mary (see [article id="1429303"]"Tuatara, Joan Osborne Wilco To Play WOMAD USA"[/article]), has dropped out of the festival so Dance singer Lisa Gerrard can write music for "Heat" director Michael Mann's new film.
