May 8 [18:00 EST] -- MTV News has learned that Noel Gallagher of Oasis will perform a solo acoustic set on day one of the two-day Tibetan Freedom Concert, June 7 at Randall's Island in New York City.
Also on the bill: The Beastie Boys, Foo Fighters, Porno For Pyros and on June 8, Alanis Morissette, Bjork, and R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe and Mike Mills.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers were scheduled to perform at the event, but canceled their Tibet show appearance with no explanation last week. As MTV News Online reported on Tuesday, the band's manager said that frontman Anthony Kiedis did not return from traveling in Tibet and India in time to prepare for the show.
As of yet, the Chili Peppers have no U.S. dates scheduled outside of Alaska and Hawaii this summer, but will play the far east starting in July.
