September 2 [7:55 EDT] -- Are the leaders of the free world ready to rock?
They may have to be next May, when British Prime Minister Tony Blair has reportedly invited Oasis to perform for dignitaries at the big G8 political summit in London.
President Clinton and Russian President Boris Yeltsin will be among the concert-goers, but there's no word yet if Oasis has accepted the invite.
Noel Gallagher, an outspoken supporter of Blair's Labor Party, joined politicians and celebrities like actor Michael Caine in July at an exclusive party thrown by Blair.
Meanwhile on this continent, the new Oasis album "Be Here Now," which has been selling at a record pace in the U.K., is doing quite well in the States as well, and is expected to make a strong debut on next week's "Billboard" album chart.
