Oasis Tour Stalled By French Truckers

November 4 [7:55 EDT] -- The official Oasis website reports that the band has canceled three shows set for France, including a benefit concert, because a French truckers strike has left their equipment stranded.

According to the site (at www.oasisinet.com), the band launched its European tour in Lille, France, but now has no way of moving its gear on to play Paris, Angers, and Bordeaux.

As we first reported last week, the band had planned to donate the proceeds from its November 4 show in Paris to the London Lighthouse, a European AIDS/HIV that was supported by Princess Diana.

While the band will not be able to make that gig, they will reportedly still appear in Paris for the taping of a French television show on Wednesday.

Oasis' European tour is expected to resume on Saturday in Zaragoza, Spain.
