December 11 [7:55 EDT] -- Oasis won't be launching its U.S. tour until January 8, but you can catch the band this weekend when MTV carries the band's homecoming gig in Manchester, England.
The band's homecoming show at Manchester's G-MEX Centre will be part of "Oasis: All Around The World, Live" which will premiere on Sunday at 10 p.m. Eastern time.
If that show is as eventful as some of the band's recent stops in Europe, it could prove to be quite interesting. As previously reported, frontman Liam Gallagher pulled out of the band's show in Dublin, Ireland last week citing a throat infection, leaving his brother Noel to handle vocal duties. The last time Oasis appeared on MTV, Noel fronted the group for an "Unplugged" performance for similar reasons.
Then, as we reported earlier this week, the band walked off the stage during a show in Glasgow, Scotland after guitarist
Paul "Bonehead" Arthur's guitar was struck with a plastic bottle thrown from the audience.
Meanwhile, the band continues to flaunt its affinity for the Beatles (or at least their work) with their new video, a seven-minute epic for the song "All Around The World." The clip, which will premiere on "MTV Live" at 6 p.m. Friday, bears at least a passing resemblance to the Beatles' movie "Yellow Submarine."
