98 Degrees and Jessica Simpson will dance with their music to the base line -- the tennis court base line, that is, as the artists have been confirmed to play this year's edition of the Arthur Ashe Kids' Day show.
The concert, which also serves as the official start of the U.S. Open, will be held on August 26 at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York. Last summer, teen singer Britney Spears performed at the event (see "Britney Spears To Play Special Concert At U.S. Open Site"), which has also featured sets from the Backstreet Boys and Hanson in year's past.
The fifth annual Arthur Ashe Kids' Day will be a daylong festival of various youth activities, including tennis clinics and interactive games, with the proceeds being donated to the National Junior Tennis League, an organization founded in 1969 aimed at bringing tennis and education programs to disadvantaged kids.
that Arthur Ashe Kids' Day has raised in excess of $1.5 million for the NJTL during the last four years alone.
The concert is the only gig 98 Degrees and Jessica Simpson currently have lined up in the near future, as 98 Degrees is currently working on its next studio album, tentatively set for release on September 26 (see "98 Degrees Readies New Album").
