Naughty By Nature's Treach Goes Behinds Bars For "Oz" Role

Treach from Naughty By Nature will continue to pad his acting résumé later this month when he shoots his part as an inmate for several episodes of the HBO prison drama, "Oz," that are scheduled to air in mid-summer.

The rapper, born Anthony Criss, landed his first big screen role in the 1992 flick "Juice," which also starred the late Tupac Shakur. Treach's most recent role came in the another HBO production, an original film project called "First-Time Felon." But Treach has also garnered additional parts in such movies as "Jason's Lyric," "The Meteor Man" and "Who's the Man?"

"I don't consider myself an actor," Treach told the MTV Radio Network, "I didn't go to school for it. I didn't base my life sayin' I wanna be an actor. So, with every project I do, it's like a learning experience, it's like a training course on-set. So, I'm lookin', I'm askin' a million questions. Rememberin'

my lines, running back and forth from the set, lookin' at the production [crew], goin' behind the monitors. Just like a little kid in a big playground." [28.8 RealAudio]

Treach landed the "Oz" role after wrapping work on Naughty By Nature's first new album in four years, "19Naughty9," which is due out on April 27. The group will also issue a greatest hits package, entitled "Nature's Finest," on March 9.
