Salt-N-Pepa Planning New LP, Greatest Hits Collection

The ladies of Salt-N-Pepa have been taking care of family business in recent months, and now they're ready to turn their attention back to music.

As most fans are now aware, Sandy "Pepa" Denton married her longtime beau, Treach of Naughty By Nature, on July 24 (see "Pepa And Treach Make It Official"). The previous week, Cheryl "Salt" James welcomed a baby boy into her family; her new son, Chapele Mekkai Elijah Wray, was born on July 15 at New York's North Shore Community Hospital, weighing in at seven pounds, eight ounces. Chapele is James' second child.

With family matters attended to, the rappers are now preparing to release a greatest hits album, which may be in stores this fall. Once that project is completed, they plan to start work on their sixth album, the group's first since 1997's "Brand New."

Meanwhile, Salt-N-Pepa's DJ, Dee Dee "Spinderella" Roper, is keeping busy with her New York City-based beauty salon.

She also recently taped an appearance for Queen Latifah's new talk show, which begins airing in the fall.
