'N Sync Wants Prince For 1999, Announces Spring Itinerary

After taking a two-week break from its U.S. tour in order to spend some time with friends and family for the holidays, 'N Sync returned to the stage last night with a performance at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis.

1998 has ended on a up note for the boys in the band, who are enjoying having two albums in the Billboard Top 10, as 'N Sync's self-titled debut sits at number two with some four million copies sold, while the vocal group's seasonal album, "Home for Christmas," holds strong at number 10.

With the success of both records, 'N Sync has just announced dates for its spring tour, which will kick off on March 3 in Jacksonville, Florida -- just six weeks after the winter tour comes to a close on January 17 in Biloxi, Mississippi.

MTV News caught up with 'N Sync recently during a visit to MTV's Times Square studios and talked with the band about what it was looking forward to in 1999.

"What are you hoping for in 1999,

Chris?," asked 'N Sync's Justin.

"Well, I'll tell ya what I'd hope for," Chris replied, "I 'd hope that Prince comes and plays a concert at my house."

"You want him to play that darn '1999' song," Justin said.

"That blasted '1999' song!," Chris joked, "it keeps popping up everywhere."

"That would be cool," Lance said.

"His name's not Prince," JC reminded his bandmates, "it's [the symbol]."

"I don't know man," Justin said, "[maybe] success? As long as we're moving forward, we'll be happy."

"A good second album," JC added, "a good second album wouldn't be a bad thing." [28.8 RealVideo]
