Instead, the Associated Press reports that the Mötley Crüe drummer sent in his plea via fax. The judge presiding over the case reportedly allowed Lee to fax in his plea to a misdemeanor assault charge stemming from an incident at a Crüe show last year.
As we previously reported (see "Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx And Tommy Lee Busted"), Lee and Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx were arrested after allegedly assaulting a security guard at the America West Arena. At the show, the band encouraged the crowd to storm the stage, and then Lee and Sixx allegedly tackled a security guard who tried to slow the crowd. It was reported that the crowd caused $15,000 worth of damage.
Sixx reportedly faces a court date in the matter on Monday.
