Mighty Mighty Bosstones Join Offspring Tour

Offspring frontman Dexter Holland has talked his old friends in the Mighty Mighty Bosstones into temporarily halting work on its new record in order to join the next few legs of the Offspring tour, starting this weekend in Phoenix.

The Bosstones had planned on hooking up with the Offspring for just a few weeks, but have now decided to join the Offspring for the summer leg of its current tour, tentatively scheduled for July 15 through August 1.

After completing the summer leg, the Bosstones will begin cutting material for its new studio album, which the band is aiming to release in early 2000.

Last year, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones issued their first concert record, "Live at the Middle East," which documented the ska-rock group's multi-night stand at the Cambridge, Massachusetts club back in 1997.
