Metallica To Do It Themselves In Radio Broadcast

December 8 [12:00 EDT] -- Not content to just debut at number one and then gracefully disappear, the guys in Metallica are mounting their own radio special to push their new album, "ReLoad."

On December 18, the band will roll in to a studio in San Jose, California for their own radio show, titled "Don't Call Us, We'll Call You." On the show, which the band will offer free-of-charge to any station that wants to carry it, Metallica will do the usual radio shtick (they'll perform an acoustic set, spin a few of their favorite tunes, etc.), but will not take calls from fans. Instead, Lars, James, Kirk, and Jason will be the ones picking up the phone to call select fans during the broadcast.

Fans should check their local radio stations for information on how to win a call from the guys. The show will be carried on radio stations across the country at 7 p.m. Eastern time on December 18.
