Smashing Pumpkins' spokespeople confirm that the band has finally fixed on a drummer for its upcoming 10-week tour: ace studio wiz Kenny Aronoff.
The drummer is best known for his long association with John Mellencamp and was most recently employed by singer John Fogerty, whose current tour Aronoff just left to join the Pumpkins.
The band's new album, "Adore," will be released next month, which is when the tour will get underway in Europe. No U.S. dates have been set yet.
The Pumpkins spokesperson says that recent speculation that the band's setlist will consist entirely of new material from "Adore" as well as select covers of early Pink Floyd tunes is "premature."
