There are still more changes at Death Row Records. It looks as though the label, headed by Suge Knight, has lost their last major artist, Snoop Doggy Dogg, to Master P and No Limit Records.
As we reportedly previously (see “Snoop Tells Newspaper He’s Leaving Death Row” ), Snoop announced in January that he feared for his career and his life unless he got off of Death Row.
Last weekend at a sold out show in Houston, Texas, Master P brought Snoop on stage, who was decked out in a No Limit camouflage leather jacket, and introduced him as the newest artist signing to his label, No Limit Records.
Master P also told the crowd of fifteen thousand people that Snoop’s album, called “Da Game Is To Be Sold, Not To Be Told,” would be released August 4.
While No Limit Records says it has signed Snoop to an unspecified deal, Death Row Records says it still has Snoop Doggy Dogg under contract. However, sources close to the
situation tell us that Death Row will let Snoop go, for the right price.
