Don't cry for Master P.
Less than two weeks after being cut by the NBA's Charlotte Hornets just days before the abbreviated season tipped-off, P has apparently already licked his wounds -- and shifted his focus from basketball to football.
On Thursday the rap entertainment mogul announced the signing of Heisman Trophy winner Ricky Williams to his sports agency firm, according to reports from ESPN and the Associated Press.
Williams, the dreadlocked running back out of the University of Texas, rushed for 2,124 yards in his final collegiate season, and is expected to be taken by either the Cleveland Browns or the Philadelphia Eagles as one of the top two picks in this year's NFL Draft, slated for April 17-18 in New York City.
The future pro is just the latest high-profile athlete to ink a deal with Master P's No Limit Sports, following the signings of NBA stars Ron Mercer of the Boston Celtics and Derek Anderson of the Cleveland Cavaliers last September
It is unlikely, however, that Master P will handle the formal negotiations with whichever team selects Williams, as the rapper said he will keep himself removed from the day-to-day operations of his No Limit Sports agency while continuing the pursuit of his own hoop dreams.
