Master P Invited To Toronto Raptors' Training Camp

After nearly making the Charlotte Hornets last season, rapper-entrepreneur-athlete Master P has been invited to the Toronto Raptors' training camp as part of a summer contract he's just inked with the NBA team.

While terms of the contract were not disclosed, Raptors' media spokesman Dave Haggith told MTV News that Master P (Percy Miller) signed the contract on Monday, and the financial provisions would only kick in if he made the team.

Earlier this year, Miller was cut from the Hornets the week before the abbreviated 1999 season began (see "Master P Dropped By Charlotte Hornets").

Miller's involvement with the Raptors apparently began a few months later, as Haggith said that Master P was brought in for a workout with some of the Raptors' assistant coaches in the middle of last season.

The Raptors' training camp officially opens on October 5, and Master P is expected to appear at the team's media day event on

October 4.
