Master P's No Limit Sports venture was sacked this week by New Orleans Saints running back Ricky Williams.According to ESPN, Williams has dismissed the agency and its representative, Leland Hardy, and hired mega-agent Leigh Steinberg, whose client roster includes such sports stars as Troy Aikman, Jake Plummer, Will Clark, and John Starks. Hardy had represented Williams since he signed a deal with the rapper last February (see "Heisman Trophy Winner Signs With Master P's Sports Agency" Despite an $8.8 million signing bonus, the contract turned out to be a financial disaster for Williams, as much of the potentially $68 million deal is tied up in incentives, and the former University of Texas star is apparently only guaranteed a base salary of $160,000 for the coming season. The running back has also gotten in hot water with Saints
recently for comments he made in an interview with "Sports Illustrated" in which he suggested that he'd like to see the team move to San Antonio, Texas so he could be closer to his home in Austin.Williams has since backpedaled from those statements, with Steinberg now insisting that the errant running back wants to remain in New Orleans, and would like to renegotiate the terms of his seven-year contract. Master P is still on the injured reserve list for the International Basketball League's San Diego StingRays, and hasn't been able to suit up and play with the team for the last few weeks (see "Master P Injures Ankle, Plans New Group LP".
