Marilyn Manson has been forced to cancel its upcoming appearances at seven European music festivals, not because of any ill-conceived moralistic outrage, but because band drummer Ginger Fish has fallen ill.

According to a spokesperson for Manson, Fish has been diagnosed with mononucleosis and needs to spend the next few weeks resting and receiving medical treatment.

Marilyn Manson had been set to launch a month's worth of European dates with a performance at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark on June 25.
