Manson To Shoot "Dope Show" Video This Weekend

Marilyn Manson will be shooting a video for the song "Dope Show" in Los Angeles this weekend with famed urban director Paul Hunter, according to a spokesperson at Interscope Records.

Hunter's past credits include efforts like Janet Jackson's "I Get Lonely," Notorious B.I.G.'s "Hypnotize," Boyz II Men's "Four Seasons Of Loneliness," Mariah Carey's "Honey," and Erykah Badu's "On and On," as well as Everclear's "Father of Mine."

Meanwhile, according to a report on the Seems Like Salvation website (http://www.nineinchnails.net) filed by a fan who auditioned as an extra, a casting call went out early in the week for characters including a black family, beautiful women and assorted Manson fanatics.

While the plot wasn't immediately clear, a tentative story board listed scenes including an acid trip-like segment with a red-haired Manson, described as the perfect "man/woman," in a field; one with him in a hospital bed

with tubes in his body and a yellowish liquid or gas coming from his nose and eyes; a scene with Manson in a limo; and one of the rocker on a stage in a fashion-oriented setting in front of an audience of obsessed fans and surrounded by beautiful women.

"Dope Show" is the first single from the forthcoming CD, "Mechanical Animals," due out Sept. 15.
